Shamanic Chakra Breathing Technique
I have been feeling the call to share some of my morning self care routines, and this next one is one of my faves! This is an incredible technique that can be used anywhere at anytime to bring more energy and focus into your body; a surefire tool for presence!
I share a lot of energy with others being a space holder and healer myself, and find that using this breathing technique helps me to sustain my own chi while sharing my energy externally with others. This is also a great way to reboot the system and refocus when spending long hours looking at books or a computer screen! (Cuz we all tend to work a little too much, yes?) With practice, you will find that breathing is an amazing way to bring more energy, clarity, and focus to you. Yes, YOU - and you are SO deserving!
With breath and breathing in general, we are under the illusion that exhales are naturally an "outward” expression; this is not necessarily the case. This Shamanic Chakra Breathing Technique will teach you how to exhale INternally, therefore storing the prana of the breath inside your body and being, where you need it most.
Let's begin by taking three breaths in together.
Now begin to breathe in white light through your crown chakra (located at the top of your head). Breathe this light in while you visualize it moving all the way down your spine to your root chakra (located at the base of your spine). When you have reached the full expression of your inhale (meaning there is no more room to breathe in), exhale this white light IN to your root chakra. Repeat this for a few cycles of breath, until you intuitively feel that this chakra is now energized with a beautiful deep red light.
When you feel ready to move on, breathe this gorgeous white light in through your crown, all the way down your spine to your sacral chakra (located about an inch beneath your belly button). Exhale this light into your sacral, repeating until you feel this chakra is now energized with a gorgeous orange light.
When you feel ready to move on, breathe in this luminous white light through your crown, down your spine to your solar plexus chakra (located just below the sternum). Exhale this light into your solar plexus, repeating until you feel this chakra is now energized with a bright yellow light.
When you are ready to move on, breathe in this healing white light through your crown, all the way down to your heart chakra (located in the center of your chest). Exhale this light into your heart, repeating until you feel this chakra is now energized with a deep green light. (Or a gentle pink light; the heart chakra is both green and pink, so intuitively feel what is best for you in this moment.)
When you feel ready to move on, breathe in this pure white light through your crown, down into your throat chakra (located about three fingers width up from where your collar bones meet). Exhale this light into your throat, repeating until you feel this chakra is now energized with a beautiful turquoise blue light.
When you are ready to move on, breathe in this luminous white light through your crown, down into your third eye chakra (located between the eyebrows). Exhale this light into your third eye, repeating until you feel this chakra is now energized with a deep indigo or violet light.
When you feel ready to move on, breathe healing pure white light into your crown chakra, and exhale this light deep into your crown. Repeat until you feel this chakra is now energized with a bright crystalline white light.
Now take three deep and full body breaths. How do you feel in your body? Do you notice a difference in your energy, more centered, more present in your body and being?
This breathing exercise is a great way to set the tone for your day when practiced in the morning. It is a lovely way to relax and flow into dreamtime when practiced before bed. And it is a wonderful way to check in with yourself at any point during your day.
If you need a quick energy boost, you may also just practice the breathing from the crown into the solar plexus for 8 to 10 cycles of breath. This should give you a sufficient boost of chi in a very short period of time. (During long or heavy conversations that require a lot of energy sharing and space holding, this works great when you are feeling a bit low yourself!)
I hope that by sharing this powerful breathing technique that we are all inspired to take action when we are feeling low. Know that you don't need anything outside of yourself; you have everything you need within.
Wishing you all many moments of energy, presence, and self love my soul family. Blessing us all up!
