“You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you.”
This is a picture of my grandfather and niece pouring over an old book of history together. Their hands are from different times on this earth, three quarters of a century span the great timeline of distance between their fingers. Yet they are still eager to know the stories of their own becoming. Ancestors and descendants, teacups and sunshine, my lineages have been weaving words on this porch for longer than I can remember. But, I DO remember.
Today I spread my wings and soar the gorgeous spine of the Rockies all the way back to my home in the jungle. I am infinitely grateFULL for the perspective of flying like a bird; scanning the deep scars and marked skin of our beautiful Earth Mother.
Canada, thank you for your trees, your shores, your wide open sky. Thank you for your cleansing waters and northern medicine. Thank you for holding the space for me to grow into my wombyness, find my truth, and fall in love with my own laughter. I am blessed by the grace and gifts of my loving family who always ground me, my friends who always reflect the brightest and lightest, and by the imprints of my own footsteps, a girl with a remarkable heart and a journeying smile.
Thank you for the laughter, the tears, the beginnings that end and are reborn once more. Your medicine runs deep within me, and I carry the wisdom of northern waters in my vessel wherever I go.
Onward to Costa Rica, where my future self awaits, I can hear her icaros in my mind's eye. I can hardly wait for the warm embrace of my beloved and two fur babies and all the purrs and meows! In an unknown kind of a way, I know.
My past is blessed with light, my future is guided by light, my present is graced with light. Bring this next chapter on, I am all smiles and palms open to the sky.
Love you tribe.
